Present law provides that the Alexandria/Pineville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau will be
composed of seven members appointed as follows:
(1)Two members appointed by the Greater Alexandria/Pineville Chamber of Commerce.
(2)One member appointed by the CENLA chapter of the Louisiana Restaurant Association.
(3)Two members appointed by the Alexandria Hotel-Motel Association.
(4)One member appointed by the governing authority of Rapides Parish who will be a
representative of the Coliseum Management.
(5)One member appointed by the Central Louisiana Attractions Associations.
Proposed law makes changes to the Alexandria/Pineville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau
board from a seven member board to a nine member board appointed as follows:
(1)One member appointed by the Greater Alexandria/Pineville Chamber of Commerce.
(2)One member appointed by the CENLA chapter of the Louisiana Restaurant Association.
(3)Two members appointed by the Alexandria Hotel-Motel Association.
(4)Two members appointed by the governing authority of Rapides Parish.
(5)One member appointed by the Central Louisiana Attractions Associations.
(6)One member appointed by the mayor of Alexandria.
(7)One member appointed by the mayor of Pineville.
Effective August 1, 2021.
(Amends R.S. 33:4574.5(A)(1) and (4); adds R.S. 33:4574.5(A)(6) and (7)) Summary of Amendments Adopted by Senate
Committee Amendments Proposed by Senate Committee on Local and Municipal Affairs to
the original bill
1. Removes provision that provides that the member appointed by the governing
authority of Rapides Parish be a representative of the Coliseum Management.
