Prefiled pursuant to Article III, Section 2(A)(4)(b)(i) of the Constitution of Louisiana.
1 AN ACT
2 To provide relative to state highways; to designate a portion of Louisiana Highway 2 and
3 Louisiana Highway 9 in Claiborne Parish as the "Sheriff Pat Garrett Memorial
4 Highway"; to designate portions of Louisiana Highway 2 in West Carroll Parish as
5 the "Sheriff T.W. Auger Memorial Highway", and the "Chief Deputy John Earl
6 Peacock Memorial Highway"; to designate a portion of Louisiana Highway 17 in
7 West Carroll Parish as "Master Trooper Robert Ryan Patrick Memorial Highway";
8 to designate a portion of Louisiana Highway 588 in West Carroll Parish as the
9 "Deputy Sheriff Jeffery Gathings Memorial Highway"; and to provide for related
10 matters.
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
12 Section 1. The portion of Louisiana Highway 9 from its intersection with
13 Louisiana Highway 2, to its intersection with United States Highway 167, all in
14 Claiborne Parish, is hereby designated as the "Sheriff Pat Garrett Memorial
15 Highway".
16 Section 2. The portion of Louisiana Highway 2 in the Village of Goodwill,
17 outside of the town of Oak Grove corporate limits and within West Carroll Parish,
18 beginning at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 2 and Louisiana Highway 585 east
19 to Louisiana Highway 582 (Redwing Road) is hereby designated as the "Sheriff T.W.
20 Auger Memorial Highway".
21 Section 3. The portion of Louisiana Highway 17 in the Village of Kilbourne,
22 outside of the town of Oak Grove corporate limits and within West Carroll Parish,
23 beginning at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 17 and Parish Road 459 (Chop
24 Road and Terry Road) north to Louisiana Highway 585 is hereby designated as the
25 "Master Trooper Robert Ryan Patrick Memorial Highway".

1 Section 4. The portion of Louisiana Highway 2 within West Carroll Parish,
2 beginning at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 2 and Louisiana Highway 582
3 (Redwing Road) east to Louisiana Highway 597 (Cook Road), is hereby designated as
4 the "Chief Deputy John Earl Peacock Memorial Highway".
5 Section 5. The portion of Louisiana Highway 588 beginning in the village of
6 Pioneer west to its intersection with Louisiana Highway 585, all in West Carroll Parish,
7 is hereby designated as the "Deputy Sheriff Jeffery Gathings Memorial Highway".
8 Section 6. The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby
9 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs of this designation provided local or
10 private monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual costs
11 for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to exceed
12 the sum of five hundred fifty dollars per sign.
