1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 47:287.86(B), relative to net operating loss deductions on
3 Louisiana corporation income; to authorize a net operating loss to carryover to each
4 taxable year until the loss is fully recovered; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 47:287.86(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง287.86. Net operating loss deduction

9	B.  Net operating loss carrybacks and carryovers.  (1)  Except as otherwise
10 provided for in Paragraph (2) of this Subsection, for For all claims for this
11 deduction on any return filed on or after July 1, 2015, regardless of the taxable year
12 to which the return relates, the taxable years to which a Louisiana net loss may be
13 carried shall be a net operating loss carryover to each of the twenty taxable years
14 following the taxable year of such the loss.
15	(2) For all claims for this deduction on any return filed on or after
16 January 1, 2022, for net operating losses relating to loss years on or after
17 January 1, 2001, the loss may be carried to each taxable year following the loss
18 year until the loss is fully recovered.

1 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
2 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
3 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
4 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
5 effective on the day following such approval.
