Present law provides for the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board (board) including the membership,
officers, meetings, and powers and duties of the board.
Proposed law retains present law.
Present law provides that members of the board shall serve at the pleasure of the governor and a
vacancy in an unexpired term shall be filled in the manner of the original appointment.
Proposed law provides that each member of the board shall be appointed for a term of four years and
that a vacancy in an unexpired term shall be filled in the manner of the original appointment for the
remainder of the unexpired term.
Proposed law applies to the terms of the members of the board appointed prior to the effective date
of proposed law.
Effective August 1, 2021.

Senate Floor Amendments to engrossed bill
1. Repeal provision allowing board members to serve at the pleasure of the governor.
