(gov sig) 1 AN ACT 2 To enact R.S. 40:1504, relative to fire protection districts; to authorize the governing 3 authority of Pointe Coupee Parish to provide, by ordinance, for the governance of 4 districts created by the parish; and to provide for related matters. 5 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published. 6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 40:1504 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 ยง1504. Fire protection districts within Pointe Coupee Parish; governance 9 The governing authority of Pointe Coupee Parish may provide, by 10 ordinance, for the governance of fire protection districts created by the parish. 11 Any such ordinance may provide for the creation of one or more supervising 12 boards to govern such districts. Any ordinance that creates a supervising board 13 shall provide for the appointment and compensation of board members. 14 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 15 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 16 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
