SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 39

CONDOLENCES.  Expresses condolences upon the death of Bradley Dewayne Cryer,
assistant legislative auditor.
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To express the sincere condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of
3 Bradley Dewayne Cryer, assistant legislative auditor.
4 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
5 Legislature of Louisiana have learned of the unexpected passing of Brad Cryer on April 10,
6 2021, at the age of forty-seven; and 
7 WHEREAS, born on March 5, 1974, Brad Cryer of Denham Springs, Louisiana,
8 worked for the state of Louisiana for twenty-five years, most recently as assistant legislative
9 auditor; and 
10 WHEREAS, he was a vital part of the leadership of the Louisiana Legislative
11 Auditor's office, a man of great integrity who gave his best effort daily, and a role model for
12 other staff; and 
13 WHEREAS, Brad Cryer loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and listening to
14 music; and 
15 WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elbert Midkiff
16 Jr.; and 
17 WHEREAS, Bradley Dewayne Cryer is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann
18 Cryer; children, Dylan Cryer, Jennifer and Hannah Peterson; his soon-to-be-born

1 granddaughter Ayla Cryer; parents, Jerry and Linda Midkiff Cryer; sister and brother-in-law,
2 Wendy and Henry Squires; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl "C.B." and Lisa Barnett;
3 maternal grandmother, Lena Midkiff; his beloved cats, Kim and Rita; and all the members
4 and friends of the EBR Hunting Club; and 
5 WHEREAS, he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who will be
6 missed dearly by all who knew him; and
7 WHEREAS, Bradley Dewayne Cryer was an extraordinary public servant who shall
8 be remembered for the admirable way in which he used his talents and resources for the
9 betterment of his state and the welfare of its people.
10 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby 
11 express sincere condolences upon the death of Bradley Dewayne Cryer, assistant legislative
12 auditor.
13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to his
14 wife, Mary Ann Cryer.
