Recognizes the Avoyel-Taensa Tribe of Louisiana as an Indian tribe of the state.
Memorializes, requests, and urges the U. S. Congress and the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs to take
such steps as are necessary to effect, in the near future, formal recognition of the Avoyel-Taensa
Tribe of Louisiana, to acknowledge that the rights of the Avoyel-Taensa Tribe of Louisiana are no
less than those of other Indian tribes in the United States, and to take such executive or congressional
action as may be appropriate.
