SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 104

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Many High School Lady Tigers' softball team on winning the Louisiana
High School Athletic Association's Class 2A State Championship.
WHEREAS, the Many High School Lady Tigers' softball team entered the 2021
LHSAA Class 2A Softball Tournament in Sulphur, Louisiana, as the top power-rated team
of the class; and
WHEREAS, the Tigers defeated Lakeview High School 16-0, Avoyelles Charter
School 10-4, and French Settlement School 16-5 to reach the championship game with the
Doyle High School Lady Tigers' softball team; and
WHEREAS, after going most of the game without a hit, the Many High School Lady
Tigers' softball team generated enough offense to claim its first state championship while
posting a 33-5 overall record; and
WHEREAS, the Many High School Lady Tigers scored four runs in the sixth inning
to defeat the Doyle High School girls' softball team by the score of four to two; and
WHEREAS, junior pitcher Tia Holmes earned Most Outstanding Player honors after
giving up five hits and putting the Many Lady Tigers on the scoreboard with a base hit; and
WHEREAS, fellow junior Brook Jenkins put the Many Lady Tigers ahead for good
with a two-run base hit; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the well-deserved title the team earned and
to commend the team for the ability they have displayed and to express sincere and heartfelt
congratulations to the team members and Coach Keaton Booker for the championship earned
and the sportsmanship shown.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate the Many High School Lady Tigers' softball team
on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association's Class 2A State Championship.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does
hereby commend and congratulate Tia Holmes, junior pitcher for the Many High School
Lady Tigers' softball team, on earning Most Outstanding Player honors, and Brook Jenkins
for her contribution to the team's win.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Coach Keaton Booker at Many High School.
