SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 181
BY SENATOR LUNEAU 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends Thaddaeus M. Sands on his leadership and contributions
as Educator and JAG Specialist at Peabody Magnet High School in Alexandria, Louisiana.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate Thaddaeus M. Sands on his leadership and contributions as
3 Educator and Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) Specialist at Peabody Magnet
4 High School in Alexandria, Louisiana, and being named the Golden Apple Teacher
5 of the Week Recipient at Peabody Magnet High School and the Golden Apple
6 Teacher of the Year Finalist in Rapides Parish for 2021.
7 WHEREAS, for over ten years, Thaddaeus M. Sands has served Peabody Magnet
8 High School as Educator and JAG Specialist responsible for ensuring that the school fulfills
9 its mission of providing a quality, well-rounded education to students; and
10 WHEREAS, he is dedicated to helping high school students at Peabody Magnet High
11 School, especially those who may have experienced challenging situations or traumatic life
12 experiences, to achieve success through graduation; and 
13 WHEREAS, the school has made strides and graduated many students in Rapides
14 Parish through JAG over the past decade through the hard work and commitment of Mr.
15 Sands; and 
16 WHEREAS, Thaddaeus is a 2005 Alumnus of Peabody Magnet High School,
17 attended Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana, and received a Bachelor of Arts in
18 Theology; received a Bachelor of Science in English from Northwestern State University in

1 2018, and a Masters of Educational Leadership from Louisiana State University at
2 Shreveport in 2020; and 
3 WHEREAS, Thaddaeus is an ordained minister and also Senior Pastor of Love
4 Fellowship Christian Church in Alexandria and has served in this leadership role for
5 seventeen years; and 
6 WHEREAS, he was baptized and started his ministry at an early age and mentored
7 along side his late grandmother, the founder of Love Fellowship Christian Church; and
8 WHEREAS, Thaddaeus, a member of the Alexandria Alumni Chapter of the Kappa
9 Alpha Psi Fraternity, is a true community leader to the youth and is involved in many
10 community and educational organizations across our state; and
11 WHEREAS, Thaddaeus has received many awards and recognitions across the parish
12 and was awarded Teacher of the Year at Peabody Magnet High School in 2018 and
13 Outstanding JAG Specialist for the state of Louisiana in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
15 does hereby commend and congratulate Thaddaeus M. Sands on his leadership and
16 contributions as Educator and Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) Specialist at Peabody
17 Magnet High School in Alexandria, Louisiana, on being named the Golden Apple Teacher
18 of the Week Recipient for Peabody Magnet High School and Teacher of the Year Finalist
19 in Rapides Parish for the year 2021.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that he is also commended for being a service to
21 students and Peabody Magnet High School as Educator and best wishes are hereby extended
22 for continued success in all of his endeavors. 
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
24 Thaddeus M. Sands.
