SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 51
BY SENATOR MIZELL 
SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH.  Recognizes Wednesday, May 5, 2021, as Louisiana
Chamber of Commerce Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To recognize Wednesday, May 5, 2021, as Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Day at the
3 Louisiana State Capitol.
4 WHEREAS, the private sector in Louisiana employs more than 1.7 million people
5 with annual wages of nearly ninety-two billion dollars; and
6 WHEREAS, the state economy is increasingly diversified with strong representation
7 in the manufacturing, health care, construction, hospitality, oil and gas, educational services,
8 finance, maritime, and transportation sectors; and
9 WHEREAS, thousands of companies and entrepreneurs in Louisiana participate in
10 local chambers of commerce with a mission to promote jobs, economic growth, and strong
11 communities in every region of the state; and
12 WHEREAS, chambers of commerce across Louisiana are dedicated to protecting and
13 promoting the local and state economy, which is currently entering a recession, according
14 to legislative economists, with thousands of jobs lost in recent months; and
15 WHEREAS, Louisiana chambers of commerce are taking an active role in the
16 legislative process in Baton Rouge to amplify the voices of employers and to encourage state
17 leaders to take actions that will support and strengthen the economy of the Pelican State; and
18 WHEREAS, more than fifty chambers of commerce have joined together as the

1 Louisiana Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (LACCE) to support and
2 provide chamber leaders with information, professional development, and best practices in
3 order to better serve Louisiana employers and communities.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
5 does hereby recognize May 5, 2021, as Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Day at the
6 Louisiana State Capitol and does hereby express its appreciation for all the chambers of
7 commerce that seek to expand opportunities for citizens and to make Louisiana continue to
8 be a great place to live and work.
9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
10 Louisiana Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
