SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 52

CONDOLENCES. Expresses condolences upon the death of Bridget Elaine Holmes.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of
3 Louisiana upon the death of Bridget Elaine Holmes.
4 WHEREAS, it is with heavy hearts that the members of the Senate of the Legislature
5 of Louisiana have learned of the death on November 5, 2020, of Bridget Elaine Holmes; and
6 WHEREAS, Bridget Elaine Holmes was born in Baton Rouge on August 14, 1982
7 to Richard and Susan Holmes; and
8 WHEREAS, Bridget loved to dance and enjoyed spending time with her friends at
9 her class at Powell-Moise School of Dance; and
10 WHEREAS, Bridget was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
11 Richard Holmes Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Major Sr. of Baton Rouge; and
12 WHEREAS, left to cherish her memory are her parents, Richard and Susan Holmes;
13 her special uncle J. Donald Major Jr. and his sons, James III and wife Stephanie Bastidas and
14 William; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Conachen and their children, Margaret Turner Holwager and
15 husband Jamie, and David Conachen and wife Jodi; Mr. and Mrs. R. Scott Holmes and their
16 son Christopher and wife Dori; and half sisters, Linda Parent and husband Ken and Christine
17 Holmes; and
18 WHEREAS, Bridget was very close to her cousins, Brandon, Baylie, Alexis, Conner,

1 Kellen, and Frankie; and
2 WHEREAS, all those who know and loved her can take solace in the knowledge that
3 Bridget is present with the Lord; and
4 WHEREAS, the death of Bridget Elaine Holmes has left an abiding void in the legion
5 of people whose lives she graciously touched and she will be truly missed by those with
6 whom she shared her life.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
8 does hereby extend the sincerest condolences on the death of Bridget Elaine Holmes, does
9 hereby express heartfelt sympathies to her family and friends, and does hereby express best
10 thoughts and prayers for comfort and peace in this time of sorrow and hopes for fond and
11 lasting memories.
12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
13 family of Bridget Elaine Holmes.
