COMMENDATIONS. Commends Pine Prairie High School in Evangeline Parish on being
named a National ESEA Distinguished School in 2020.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Pine Prairie High School in Evangeline Parish upon being named a National
3 ESEA Distinguished School in 2020.
4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Pine Prairie High School upon its
5 memorable and historic selection as one of the two schools in the state to receive national
6 recognition as a Distinguished School in 2020; and
7 WHEREAS, this prestigious recognition is given to schools that excel either in
8 student performance or for closing the achievement gap between specific student groups and
9 their peers for two or more consecutive years; and
10 WHEREAS, Pine Prairie High School was recognized in the category of "Closing
11 the Achievement Gap" for its work in improving the educational performance of students
12 who have historically struggled; and
13 WHEREAS, Pine Prairie High School holds its students to high standards and takes
14 its charge to improve educational outcomes for all students very seriously; and
15 WHEREAS, Pine Prairie High School serves as a shining example to other schools
16 of approaches, programs, and creative education techniques that work for all students; and
17 WHEREAS, the students, families, faculty, staff, and administration of Pine Prairie
18 High School merit a special measure of commendation for their steadfast dedication to

1 excellence and for their outstanding accomplishments.
2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
3 does hereby recognize, commend, and record for posterity Pine Prairie High School's
4 extraordinary achievement in education, and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for
5 the pride and honor that the school brings to the state of Louisiana.
6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
7 principal of Pine Prairie High School.
