HB 1019 Original 2022 Regular Session	DuBuisson
Abstract: Makes changes to the examination and licensing requirements for persons
seeking a license from the La. Cosmetology Board (board).
Present law allows a person with an out-of-state license, in a field regulated by the board,
to receive a license if they pass a test provided by the board and pay the required fees.
Proposed law retains present law in part, but removes the examination requirement to allow
for license portability.
Present law requires a person applying for a license from the board to satisfy various
requirements prior to being issued a license. As part of the requirements in present law, the
applicant is required to take and pass a practical examination.
Proposed law removes the practical examination from the list of requirements and retains
the remainder of the qualifications.
