HB 1053 Original 2022 Regular Session	Emerson
Abstract: Exempts attorneys licensed as real estate salespersons from certain requirements
for licensure as a real estate broker.
Present law requires all applicants for licensure as a real estate broker in this state to be
licensed for 4 years prior to application as a real estate broker and complete 150 hours of
instruction in real estate courses, including passage of an examination on course contents.
Proposed law exempts attorneys licensed and in good standing with the La. State Bar
Association who are also licensed real estate salespersons from the requirements set forth
in present law.
