Abstract:  Exempts attorneys licensed as real estate salespersons from certain requirements for
licensure as a real estate broker.
Present law requires all applicants for licensure as a real estate broker in this state to be licensed for
4 years prior to application as a real estate broker and complete 150 hours of instruction in real estate
courses, including passage of an examination on course contents.
Proposed law exempts attorneys licensed and in good standing with the La. State Bar Association
who are also licensed real estate salespersons from the requirements set forth in present law.
