R.S. 13:587.3(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง587.3. Nineteenth Judicial District; divisions; subject matter 8 A. Present law provides that the judges of the 19th Judicial District Court, with respect to seniority and the requirement that all cases be assigned randomly within multi-judge groupings, may assign to a division criminal matters or civil matters or drug court matters or any or all types of matters of which the court has jurisdiction by rule adopted by a majority vote of the judges sitting en banc, with the consent of the judge of a division. Proposed law retains present law and adds domestic violence matters as an assignable subject matter for divisions within the 19th Judicial District Court.
