HOUSE BILL NO. 150
BY REPRESENTATIVE ST. BLANC
1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 34:322.1(C) and (E) and 2472(B), relative to the Morgan City
3 Harbor and Terminal District and certain port commissions; to extend the length of
4 the term of commissioners; to provide for the domicile and regular meeting place of
5 certain port commissions; and to provide for related matters.
6	Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
7	as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
8	Louisiana.
9 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
10 Section 1.  R.S. 34:322.1(C) and (E) and 2472(B) are hereby amended and reenacted
11 to read as follows:
12 §322.1.  Board of commissioners; members; vacancy; compensation; officers,
13	agents, and employees

15	C.  The terms of the initial appointees shall be concurrent with the terms of
16 the appointing authority.  Thereafter, the terms shall be for four seven years.

18	E.  No board member shall serve more than two consecutive four-year seven-
19 year terms; however, if an initial appointee's term is one year or less he may be
20 reappointed for two four-year seven-year terms.  A member who has served two

1 consecutive four-year seven-year terms may apply for appointment to the board,
2 provided four years have elapsed since the end of his last term.

4 §2472.  Officers of the board; meetings
5	*          *          *
6	B.(1)  The domicile and regular meeting place of the commission shall be
7 LaPlace Reserve, Louisiana.
8	(2)  However, such domicile and regular meeting place may be changed to
9 Reserve, Louisiana, upon a vote of two-thirds of the members of the commission in
10 favor of a resolution authorizing the change and if the bylaws are amended to
11 provide for such change.  Such vote shall occur no sooner than twenty-four hours
12 after a public meeting specifically held to debate such matters and to receive public
13 comment thereon.
