HOUSE BILL NO. 217
BY REPRESENTATIVE BOURRIAQUE
PROPERTY/PUBLIC:  Provides relative to the transfer of certain state property in Cameron
Parish
1	AN ACT
2To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer
3 of certain state property in Cameron Parish; to provide for the property description;
4 to provide for the reservation of mineral rights; to provide for terms and conditions;
5 to provide an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  The secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development and
8the commissioner of administration, notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
9are hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease, or deliver any
10interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may have in and to all or any portion of the
11following described property to Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10:
12	That certain parcel of land owned by Louisiana Department of
13	Transportation & Development (LADOTD) containing 1.002 acres, situated
14	in Section 3, Township 15 South, Range 11 East, Cameron Parish, Louisiana,
15	said parcel being further described as follows:
16	Commencing at an existing NGS Monument referred to as
17	“BRAMA”, said point hereinafter being known as the Point of
18	Commencement and referred to as the P.O.C; Thence a bearing of North 11
19	degrees 32 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 5,782.36 feet to a point on
20	the apparent East Right-of-Line of Louisiana Highway No. 27, said point
21	hereinafter being known as the Point of Beginning and referred to as the
22	P.O.B.;
23	Thence along the apparent East Right-of-Line of Louisiana Highway
24	No. 27, a bearing of North 15 degrees 13 minutes 48 seconds West a distance
25	of 153.32 feet to a point;

1	Thence leaving the apparent East Right-of-Line of Louisiana
2	Highway No. 27, a bearing of South 89 degrees 07 minutes 34 seconds East
3	a distance of 294.50 feet to a point;
4	Thence a bearing of South 15 degrees 13 minutes 48 seconds East a
5	distance of 153.09 feet to a point;
6	Thence a bearing of North 88 degrees 47 minutes 47 seconds West
7	a distance of 295.00 feet to a point, being the Point of Beginning, P.O.B.
8	The above parcel is made-reference to as “Tract 2-1” on the
9	accompanying plat of survey dated February 21, 2022.
10 Section 2.  The secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development and
11the commissioner of administration are hereby authorized to enter into such agreements,
12covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such documents as necessary to
13properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of title,
14excluding mineral rights, to the property described in Section 1 of this Act, and as more
15specifically described in any such agreements entered into and documents executed by and
16between the secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development, the
17commissioner of administration, and Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10, in
18exchange for consideration proportionate to the appraised value of the property, or as
19otherwise provided by law.
20 Section 3.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
21signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
22by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If
23vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
24effective on the day following such approval.
