R.S. 37:3556(F) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 ยง3556. Licensure; qualifications 9 * * * 10 F. The board shall make available to any graduate of a state-approved, 11 Louisiana-based school for massage therapy a provisional license for immediate use 12 upon graduation at an established massage therapy business registered with the 13 board. The provisional license will be active for a three-month term and may be 14 renewed once upon expiration or following first-time failure to pass the examination 15 adopted by the board as required by the provisions of this Section. Present law states the qualifications for licensure to the La. Board of Massage Therapy (board) and provides the methods for issuance to those qualified licensees. Proposed law grants a three-month provisional license to massage therapy graduates in preparation for the board exam. Proposed law provides a one-time renewal of the three-month provisional license in the event of first-time failure of the board exam.
