ACT 361 (HB 28) 2022 Regular Session Muscarello
Existing law provides, in part, that a parish court or city court has jurisdiction, concurrent
with the district court, over suits by owners and landlords for the possession of leased
premises when the lease is by the month and the monthly rental is $3,000 or less.
New law authorizes the City Court of Hammond to have jurisdiction over suits by owners
and landlords for the possession of leased premises when the lease is by the month and the
monthly rental is $5,000 or less.
Effective August 1, 2022.
