RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 211 (HB 348) 2022 Regular Session Amedee Existing law authorizes parish governing authorities to create recreation districts. Provides that the purposes of such districts are to own and operate playgrounds and other facilities or to engage in activities which would promote recreation and the general health and well-being of youths. Provides for their powers and duties. Existing law provides that the recreation districts are governed by a board of five commissioners and provides for the appointment and terms of office of members. Existing law provides that members shall receive a per diem of $10 for each meeting they attend, to be paid from district funds, not to exceed 12 meetings per year. New law authorizes members of the boards of commissioners of recreation districts in St. Mary Parish to receive a per diem of not less than $10 nor more than $65 for each meeting they attend.
