Abstract:  Adds Mitragynine and Tianeptine to Schedule I of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous
Substances Law.
Present law provides for the designation of controlled dangerous substances into Schedules I, II, III,
IV, and V based upon the substances' potential for addiction and abuse.
Present law provides for Mitragynine to be added to the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances
Law, the schedule to which such substance will be added is dependent upon the classification of the
substance as a controlled dangerous substance by the Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. 
Proposed law repeals present law and adds Mitragynine and Tianeptine to Schedule I of the
Controlled Dangerous Substances Law.
Present law provides for the crime of unlawful distribution of products containing Mitragyna
speciosa to a minor.
Proposed law repeals this provision of present law.
