HEALTH CARE/PROVIDERS:  Provides relative to off-site locations of behavioral health
service providers
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 40:2155(B)(2) and to enact R.S. 40:2155(B)(3), relative to
3 behavioral health service providers; to provide for offsite locations; to provide for
4 defined geographic service locations; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 40:2155(B)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.
740:2155(B)(3) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
8 ยง2155.  Licensure of behavioral health services providers

12	(2)  The geographic service location for a public or private behavioral health
13 services provider licensed pursuant to this Part shall be defined to include all of the
14 following: 
15	(a)  The the parish in which the provider's business office is located., 
16	(b)  Any any parish contiguous to the parish in which the provider's business
17 office is located., and 
18	(c)  Any any distance location within a fifty-mile radius of the provider's
19 business office.

Abstract:  Allows behavioral health service providers to operate within a fifty-mile radius
of one designated offsite location.
Present law states that the geographic service locations for public or private behavioral
health service providers include the parish in which the provider's business office is located,
any parish contiguous to the parish in which the provider's business office is located, and any
distance within a fifty-mile radius of the provider's business office.
Proposed law states that the geographic service locations for public or private behavioral
health service providers include the parish in which the provider's business office is located,
any parish contiguous to the parish in which the provider's business office is located, and any
location within a fifty-mile radius of the provider's business office.
Proposed law provides that a behavioral health service provider may operate within a 50-
mile radius of one designated offsite location in addition to the existing geographic service
locations provided in present law.
(Amends R.S. 40:2155(B)(2); Adds R.S. 40:2155(B)(3))
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Health and Welfare to
the original bill:
1. Provide that a behavioral health service provider may operate within a 50-mile
radius of one designated offsite location. 
2. Make technical corrections.
