INSURANCE/HEALTH: Provides relative to the regulation of pharmacy benefit
managers
DIGEST
Present law provides for the pharmacy benefit manager monitoring advisory council and
provides for the membership and functions of the advisory council.
Proposed law adds the governor, the chairman of the House Committee on Insurance, the
chairman of the House Committee on Health and Welfare, the chairman of the Senate
Committee on Health and Welfare, and the chairman of the Senate Committee on Insurance
as members to the advisory council, provides for technical changes, and otherwise retains
present law.
Proposed law provides for the advisory council to conduct and its members to attend and
participate in a meeting via electronic means if certain procedures are followed.
Effective upon governor's signature or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
(Amends R.S. 40:2869(D) and (E); Adds R.S. 40:2869(A)(21)-(25) and R.S. 42:17.2)
