HOUSE BILL NO. 748
BY REPRESENTATIVES MCMAHEN, CORMIER, EDMONSTON, FIRMENT,
GLOVER, HORTON, LARVADAIN, MOORE, AND SCHAMERHORN
HIGHWAYS/INTERSTATE:  Designates Exit 44 on Interstate Highway 20 in Webster
Parish as the "Kim Cannon Memorial Interchange"
1	AN ACT
2To designate Exit 44 on Interstate Highway 20 in Webster Parish as the "Kim Cannon
3 Memorial Interchange"; and to provide for related matters.
4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1.  The portion of Interstate Highway 20 at Exit 44 in Webster Parish shall
6be known and is hereby designated as the "Kim Cannon Memorial Interchange".
7 Section 2.  The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are
8hereby directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation
9provided local or private monies are received by the department equal to the department's
10actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to
11exceed the sum of five hundred fifty dollars per sign.

appropriate signage reflecting this designation provided local or private monies are received

by the DOTD equal to its actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and
installation of each sign, not to exceed the sum of $550 per sign.
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Transportation,
Highways and Public Works to the original bill:
1. Change the signage from "Drive Safely - In Memory of Kim Cannon" to the
"Kim Cannon Memorial Interchange".  Additionally, change the location of the
signage from Interstate Highway 20 east of Exit 44 in Webster Parish to Exit 44
on Interstate Highway 20 in Webster Parish.
