PROPERTY/PUBLIC: Authorizes the transfer of certain state property in Caddo Parish
Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Adds authority for the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors to
transfer certain property in Caddo Parish to the Caddo Parish Public School
Board.
2.Provides that if the transfers authorized by the Act are not entered into by
December 31, 2023, the office of state lands is authorized to proceed with the
sale of the property as provided in Title 41 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of
1950.
2.Makes technical changes
Digest of Bill as Finally Passed by Senate
Authorizes the transfer of certain state property in Caddo Parish to the Shreveport
Implementation and Redevelopment Authority and certain state property in Caddo Parish to
the Caddo Parish School Board. Provides for the reservation of mineral rights to the state.
Provides for access to the property by the Shreveport Implementation and Redevelopment
Authority for due diligence and planning.
Authorizes the office of state lands to proceed with sale of a described property by public bid
if an agreement authorized by the Act is not entered into between the parties by Dec. 31,
2023.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
