HIGHWAYS/INTERSTATE: Designates portions of certain highways as memorial
highways
1 AN ACT
2To designate a portion of United States Highway 90 in Jefferson Davis Parish as the
3 "Winston Guillory Memorial Highway"; to designate a portion of Louisiana
4 Highway 14 in Jefferson Davis Parish as the "Marion "Butch" Fox Memorial
5 Highway"; to designate a portion of Louisiana Highway 21 in Washington Parish as
6 the "Lt. Brian Anthony Nichols "Lt. Nic" Memorial Highway"; and to provide for
7 related matters.
8Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. The portion of United States Highway 90 from mile marker sixty-three
10to sixty-four in Jefferson Davis Parish shall be known and hereby designated as the
11"Winston Guillory Memorial Highway".
12 Section 2. The portion of Louisiana Highway 14 from Louisiana Highway 380 to 4th
13Street in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, in Jefferson Davis Parish shall be known and hereby
14designated as the "Marion "Butch" Fox Memorial Highway".
15 Section 3. The portion of Louisiana Highway 21 from Prison Road north to the
16Mississippi state line, in Washington Parish shall be known and is hereby designated as the
17"Lt. Brian Anthony Nichols "Lt. Nic" Memorial Highway".
18 Section 4. The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are
19hereby directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation
20provided local or private monies are received by the department equal to the department's

1actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to
2exceed the sum of five hundred fifty dollars per sign.

Memorial Highway". Further designates the portion of La. Hwy. 14 in Jefferson Davis
Parish as the "Marion "Butch" Fox Memorial Highway" and the portion of La. Hwy. 21 in
Washington Parish as the "Lt. Brian Anthony Nichols "Lt. Nic" Memorial Highway".
Directs the Dept. of Transportation and Development (DOTD) to erect and maintain
appropriate signage reflecting this highway designation provided local or private monies are
received by DOTD equal to its actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and
installation of each sign, not to exceed the sum of $550 per sign.
