Abstract:  Modifies the period in which licenses issued by the La. State Racing Commission remain
active.
Present law authorizes the La. State Racing Commission (commission) to issue licenses to owners,
trainers, jockeys, riders, and various other occupations relative to horse racing.
Proposed law retains present law.
Under present law a license issued by the commission remains active for a period of not more than
1 year.
Proposed law extends this period from not more than 1 year to not more than 3 years.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
