CONGRESS:  Memorializes congress to support the continued partnership between
nonprofit organizations and the federal government
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To memorialize the United States Congress to support the partnership between nonprofit
3 organizations and the federal government.
4 WHEREAS, the nonprofit sector in the United States includes nearly one million five
5hundred thousand organizations and employs over twelve million people, making it the third
6largest workforce in the United States; and
7 WHEREAS, nonprofit organizations in the United States contribute over one trillion
8dollars to the economy each year; and
9 WHEREAS, the public sector relies on nonprofit organizations to provide necessary
10services to citizens, especially during times of economic downturns; and 
11 WHEREAS, nonprofit organizations of all sizes and missions helped communities
12across the United States face unprecedented challenges despite labor shortages, disrupted
13operations, and increased demands for assistance; and
14 WHEREAS, partnerships between the public sector and nonprofit sector allow both
15to leverage resources, relationships, and strengths to further serve communities.
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
17recognize the importance of nonprofit organizations and memorializes the United States
18Congress to support the partnership between nonprofit organizations and the federal
19government.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
2presiding officers of the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Congress of the
3United States of America and to each member of the Louisiana congressional delegation.
