RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 538 (SB 115) 2022 Regular Session Mizell Existing law provides relative to human trafficking training for law enforcement agencies. New law requires that within one year of employment all peace officers in the state complete training on human trafficking from the Council on Peace Officer Standards and Training's (council) Learning Management System. New law provides that all peace officers employed for one year or more on August 1, 2022, must receive training on human trafficking from the council's Learning Management System by December 31, 2022. New law provides that beginning in 2023, the council must report compliance percentages of human trafficking training to the Senate Committee on Judiciary B and the House Committee on Judiciary, from the previous year not later than February 15th of each year. New law requires the council adopt rules for the implementation of the human trafficking training program. Effective August 1, 2022. (Adds R.S. 40:2405.7(D) and (E))
