SB 206 Engrossed 2022 Regular Session	Jackson
Present law provides for the powers, duties, and responsibilities of the Public Defender
Board, and provides that the board may enter into contracts with various attorneys, local,
state, and federal agencies.
Proposed law retains present law and further provides that the Public Defender Board shall
enter into a contract with the University of Louisiana at Monroe, to provide training to
certain attorneys, investigators, social workers, and staff.  Requires any contracts formed
with the University of Louisiana at Monroe to use existing funds appropriated by the
legislature.
Effective July 1, 2022.
