RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 419 (SB 281) 2022 Regular Session Bernard Existing law provides that the registrar of voters, Department of State, and clerk of court cannot disclose the name and address of a law enforcement officer, other than on a general list, if they have received certification from the officer's employing agency that the officer is engaging in hazardous activities to the extent that it is necessary for his name and address to be kept confidential. New law creates an exception in existing law to allow the disclosure of the name and address of an officer otherwise entitled to confidentiality who has qualified as a candidate for office between the date of qualifying and the general election. Effective August 1, 2022. (Amends R.S. 18:154(D)(4); adds R.S. 18:154(D)(5))
