1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 18:1945(C), relative to redistricting plans; to provide for
3 redistricting plan submission requirements; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 18:1945(C) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
6 ยง1945. Submission of redistricting plans to the secretary of state; required format

8 C. No redistricting plan of a local governing body shall be implemented
9 unless the information required in Subsection A or B of this Section is received by
10 the secretary of state prior to 4:30 p.m. four weeks prior to the date the qualifying
11 period opens. However, technical corrections to a timely submitted redistricting
12 plan of a local governing body may be submitted no later than ten days prior to
13 the date the qualifying period opens.

15 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
16 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
17 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
18 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
19 effective on the day following such approval.
