1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 4:228(F), relative to horse racing; to provide for offtrack
3 wagering facility locations; to provide for prohibitions; to provide for exceptions;
4 and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 4:228(F) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง228. Offtrack wagering facility locations; prohibited distances; prohibited structures

9	F.(1) If application for licensing is made after July 1, 2021, the prohibition
10 in Subsection A of this Section shall apply.
11	(2) Notwithstanding the prohibitions in Subsections A and D of this
12 Section and Paragraph (1) of this Subsection, if the owner of the equity of the
13 primary licensee on July 1, 2021, sold the equity of the primary licensee to a new
14 owner, and the transaction was approved by the commission prior to
15 November 1, 2021, then the primary licensee shall have until August 1, 2022, to
16 apply for licensing of offtrack wagering facility locations and the prohibitions
17 in Subsections A and D of this Section and Paragraph (1) of this Subsection
18 shall not apply to those applications.

1 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
2 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
3 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
4 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
5 effective on the day following such approval.
