SENATE BILL NO. 453

MOTOR VEHICLES.  Provides relative to low speed autonomous motor vehicles. (8/1/22)
1	AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 32:378.4, relative to low speed autonomous motor vehicles; to provide for
3 regulatory exceptions for automated vehicles; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1.  R.S. 32:378.4 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 ยง378.4. Autonomous vehicle equipment requirements
7	A motor vehicle with autonomous technology that is designed to be
8 operated exclusively by an automated driving system for all trips shall not be
9 subject to motor vehicle equipment laws or equipment regulations of this state
10 that relate to or support motor vehicle operation by a human driver and are not
11 relevant for an automated driving system.
