SB 498 Reengrossed 2022 Regular Session	Stine
Proposed law authorizes the La. Transportation Authority (LTA) to accept unsolicited
proposals for design builds in excess of $100,000,000.00.
Proposed law requires the department notify interested bidders by public advertisement of
the unsolicited proposal received by LTA.
Proposed law requires interested parties submit a formal request of consideration within 30
days and authorizes no more than 120 days to submit an unsolicited proposal including
schedule, design, and cost.
Proposed law requires all proposals for a design build project comply with all applicable
provisions of proposed law and requires the review cost be nonrefundable should the project
not move forward.
Effective August 1, 2022.

The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Transportation,
Highways and Public Works to the reengrossed bill:
1. Change proposed law from requiring the authority to accept unsolicited proposals
for design build projects in excess of $100,000.000.00 to authorizing the
authority to accept unsolicited proposals for design build projects in excess of
$100,000.000.00.
2. Change the authorized number of days for interested bidders to submit an
unsolicited proposal from no more than 60 days to no more than 120 days.
3. Require the review cost for all proposals for a design build project pursuant to
proposed law be nonrefundable should the project not move forward.
