SUMMARY OF HOUSE AMENDMENTS TO THE SENATE BILL
1. Adds two physicians to the council.
2. Requires physicians and pharmacists on the council to be licensed and in
good standing with their respective licensing boards, actively practicing, and
participating as a Medicaid provider. 
3. Adds responsibilities to the council to develop a process for pharmacists to
provide claim reimbursement data, make recommendations to the secretary
on enhanced reimbursement, and advise on medication therapy management.
4. Provides that the council may seek input from industry stakeholders. 
5. Makes technical corrections.

Proposed law provides for the Council on Medicaid Pharmacy Reimbursement within the
La. Dept. of Health (LDH). Proposed law further provides for the membership of the
council, terms of the members, meetings of the council, and the required quorum.
Proposed law provides duties of the council.
Proposed law provides that the council may consult with health benefit plan issuers,
Medicaid managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit managers, wholesale drug
distributors, and other interested stakeholders in carrying out the duties required by proposed
law.
Effective August 1, 2022.
