COMMENDATIONS. Commends Bob Davis Electric Company Inc. on the occasion of its
100
th
anniversary.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend Bob Davis Electric Co. Inc. on the occasion of its one hundredth anniversary.
3 WHEREAS, in 1922, Robert Milton "Bob" Davis Sr. founded Bob Davis Electric Co.
4 Inc. in Shreveport; and
5 WHEREAS, when Davis Sr. passed away in 1946, his son Robert Milton Davis Jr.
6 took over leadership; Kirk Davis became president following his father's retirement in 1990;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, as Kirk Davis grew up around the electrical industry, there was one
9 lesson he learned again and again: if you say you'll do something, make sure you do it; this
10 has always been the philosophy of Bob Davis Electric, and that is one key reason it
11 continues as the oldest operating electrical contractor in Shreveport today; and
12 WHEREAS, Davis stepped aside in April 2019 and his son Todd took over as
13 president, continuing the family business; now, Kirk Davis begins his tenure as president of
14 the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA); and
15 WHEREAS, Bob Davis Electric joined NECA in 1923 in just its second year of
16 doing business and has been actively involved with the association on the local and national
17 levels; and
18 WHEREAS, from the beginning, the company established itself as the place for

1 reliable, professional electrical work; that mentality has been passed down through the Davis
2 family, and the company celebrated its one hundredth anniversary in February of 2022; and
3 WHEREAS, through Bob Davis Electric's reputation for high-quality work, the
4 company has cultivated generations of repeat customers; and
5 WHEREAS, just as Bob Davis Electric has been led by a tight-knit family, it has
6 developed century-long relationships all around Louisiana and east Texas.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
8 commend and congratulate Bob Davis Electric Company Inc. on the occasion of its one
9 hundredth year of service to the citizens of Shreveport.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
11 Robert, Kirk, Todd, and Charlotte Davis.
