2022 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 105 BY SENATOR FIELDS A RESOLUTION To commend Charles and Gladys Wallace of Baton Rouge as they celebrate fifty years of marriage. WHEREAS, after fifty years of marriage, it is appropriate to commend and congratulate Charles and Gladys Wallace; and WHEREAS, Charles and Gladys have known each other since childhood; and WHEREAS, Charles was raised on North 49th Street and Gladys was raised on North 37th Street in the Eden Park Community of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and both attended Greenville Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Charles and Gladys reconnected later in life when they were both employed at Piccadilly Cafeteria; and WHEREAS, on June 24, 1972, after a short courtship and engagement, the two twenty-year-olds became one when Charles Ellis Wallace married Gladys Mae Bailey; and WHEREAS, Charles and Gladys share a host of accomplishments, but none have produced a greater sense of pride than the birth of their three daughters: Caroline Wallace, Charita Wallace Smith (Charlie), and Shalonda Wallace Golden (Dexter); and WHEREAS, Charles and Gladys are also devoted and loving grandparents of two grandsons, Solomon Golden, age five, and Samuel Golden, age three; and WHEREAS, on June 24, 2022, Charles and Gladys will recommit themselves before God, family, and friends, and celebrate a half-century of love. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Charles and Gladys Wallace on fifty years of marriage.
