SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 113

SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH. Recognizes Tuesday, May 10, 2022, as Baton Rouge
Young Professionals Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To recognize Tuesday, May 10, 2022, as Baton Rouge Young Professionals Day at the
3 Louisiana State Capitol and to commend the board of directors and members of
4 Forum 225.
5 WHEREAS, founded in 1993 as Forum 35, Forum 225, a young professionals
6 organization dedicated to improving and shaping Baton Rouge, inspires its members to grow
7 philanthropically, professionally, and civically; and
8 WHEREAS, over the past twenty-nine years, Forum 225 has expanded its
9 membership to over two hundred fifty members with numerous corporate partners; and
10 WHEREAS, Forum 225 hosts and participates in many valuable initiatives and
11 events, including Forum Friday, John W. Barton Sr. Community Leadership Development
12 Program, Uncorked, Public Education Project, Leadership Hour, service committee projects,
13 cultural diversity forums, and various member socials; and
14 WHEREAS, Forum 225 is committed to community service and actively contributes
15 to the educational, civic, and social life of the citizens of Baton Rouge and Louisiana; and
16 WHEREAS, Forum 225 members regularly speak out on major issues and volunteer
17 thousands of hours in the community; and
18 WHEREAS, Forum 225 is implementing a new partnership with the Baton Rouge

1 Area Chamber to bolster the organization's ability to serve as a recruitment, retention, and
2 development tool of young professionals in the capital region; and
3 WHEREAS, Forum 225 does not endorse candidates for public office but does
4 encourage its members to vote and be informed citizens, regardless of the member's political
5 beliefs; and
6 WHEREAS, Baton Rouge Young Professionals Day at the Louisiana State Capitol
7 encourages Forum 225 members to speak with their legislators to address issues that are
8 pertinent to the Baton Rouge community and the state of Louisiana; and
9 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the leadership and members of Forum 225
10 for their dedication to the core pillars of arts and culture, leadership, service, and cultural
11 diversity.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
13 does hereby recognize Tuesday, March 10, 2022, as Baton Rouge Young Professionals Day
14 at the Louisiana State Capitol and does hereby commend the board of directors under the
15 leadership of President Ethan J. Melancon and President-elect Tyler Litt and does express
16 enduring appreciation to the members of Forum 225 for the tremendous honor and pride that
17 they bring to the Baton Rouge community and the state of Louisiana.
18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
19 Forum 225 board of directors.
