SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 119

COMMENDATIONS. Commends the University Laboratory School football team on
winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division II State
Championship.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend the University Laboratory School football team on winning the Louisiana High
3 School Athletic Association 2021 Division II State Championship.
4 WHEREAS, the University Laboratory School football team captured the 2021
5 Division II state title by defeating E.D. White High School, 14-7, in the championship game
6 at Cajun Field in Lafayette, Louisiana; and
7 WHEREAS, with the victory, the University Lab football program now holds claim
8 to six state titles in school history, four of which came in the last twelve years; the program
9 has also made ten consecutive state semi-finals appearances; and
10 WHEREAS, the seniors on the 2021 University Lab football team finished their high
11 school football career with a record of forty-five wins and only four losses; the team finished
12 this season with thirteen wins and zero losses; and
13 WHEREAS, the players, coaches, and training staff of the University Lab football
14 team are most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible performance all
15 season and the school is also worthy of honor for its sustained excellence on the football
16 field.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
18 does hereby commend the University Laboratory School football team on winning the

2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
3 principal of University Laboratory School.
