SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 127
BY SENATOR FIELDS
COMMENDATIONS. Commends Jerry Dennis Walker Jr. on graduating from Zachary
High School.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To congratulate Jerry Dennis Walker Jr. on becoming a 2022 Zachary High School graduate
3 and to commend him on his many accomplishments.
4 WHEREAS, graduating from high school is an important milestone in a student's life
5 that signifies success in academics and achievement of one's goals; and
6 WHEREAS, graduating from high school is one of the most important indicators of
7 future success in life, including employment prospects, income potential, and overall health;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, Jerry Dennis Walker Jr. is set to graduate from Zachary High School
10 on May 19, 2022, and it is appropriate to commend him for all of his accomplishments
11 throughout his high school career; and
12 WHEREAS, Jerry was a member of the Zachary High School choir, which won
13 "superior" ratings at the Louisiana Music Educators Association District IV Festival
14 Competition and Festival Disney; and
15 WHEREAS, in addition to being in the choir, Jerry was also a member of the
16 Zachary High School football team which won three 5A state championships, and the
17 wrestling team which placed second in two tournaments; and
18 WHEREAS, outside of his accomplishments at school, Jerry has been able to

1 maintain a job while still finding time to take bass guitar lessons; and
2 WHEREAS, Jerry has enjoyed serving his community through his church by helping
3 to feed the community, singing in the choir, and being a Junior Deacon; and
4 WHEREAS, as a member and the chaplain of the Louisiana Leadership Institute,
5 Jerry has placed first in oratorical contests in Illinois and Louisiana; and
6 WHEREAS, Jerry will attend Louisiana Tech University where he plans to major in
7 mechanical engineering and minor in computer science; and
8 WHEREAS, throughout his high school career, Jerry has proven himself to be a team
9 player, a dedicated student, and an active member of his community, and his many
10 accomplishments deserve recognition; and
11 WHEREAS, through his academic achievements and his involvement with the
12 Louisiana Leadership Institute, Jerry has formed a solid foundation which will serve him
13 well in his future endeavors.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
15 does hereby commend and congratulate Jerry Dennis Walker Jr. on graduating from Zachary
16 High School.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Jerry
18 Dennis Walker Jr.
