SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 127
BY SENATOR FIELDS
A RESOLUTION
To congratulate Jerry Dennis Walker Jr. on becoming a 2022 Zachary High School graduate
and to commend him on his many accomplishments.
WHEREAS, graduating from high school is an important milestone in a student's life
that signifies success in academics and achievement of one's goals; and
WHEREAS, graduating from high school is one of the most important indicators of
future success in life, including employment prospects, income potential, and overall health;
and
WHEREAS, Jerry Dennis Walker Jr. is set to graduate from Zachary High School
on May 19, 2022, and it is appropriate to commend him for all of his accomplishments
throughout his high school career; and
WHEREAS, Jerry was a member of the Zachary High School choir, which won
"superior" ratings at the Louisiana Music Educators Association District IV Festival
Competition and Festival Disney; and
WHEREAS, in addition to being in the choir, Jerry was also a member of the
Zachary High School football team which won three 5A state championships, and the
wrestling team which placed second in two tournaments; and
WHEREAS, outside of his accomplishments at school, Jerry has been able to
maintain a job while still finding time to take bass guitar lessons; and
WHEREAS, Jerry has enjoyed serving his community through his church by helping
to feed the community, singing in the choir, and being a Junior Deacon; and
WHEREAS, as a member and the chaplain of the Louisiana Leadership Institute,
Jerry has placed first in oratorical contests in Illinois and Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Jerry will attend Louisiana Tech University where he plans to major in
mechanical engineering and minor in computer science; and

WHEREAS, throughout his high school career, Jerry has proven himself to be a team
player, a dedicated student, and an active member of his community, and his many
accomplishments deserve recognition; and
WHEREAS, through his academic achievements and his involvement with the
Louisiana Leadership Institute, Jerry has formed a solid foundation which will serve him
well in his future endeavors.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Jerry Dennis Walker Jr. on graduating from Zachary
High School.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Jerry Dennis Walker Jr.
