SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 14

CONDOLENCES. Expresses condolences on the passing of Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the
3 family and friends of Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack on the occasion of her passing.
4 WHEREAS, Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack, a native of New Roads and a resident
5 of Port Allen, was born in 1941 to John and Blanche Leonard; and
6 WHEREAS, Ms. Jack had a career expanding over fifty years working for Louisiana
7 State University's dining services; and
8 WHEREAS, Ms. Jack entered into eternal rest at Our Lady of Lake Regional Medical
9 Center in Baton Rouge on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the age of eighty years old; and
10 WHEREAS, Ms. Jack is survived by her daughters, Carmalita Jack and Celiaka
11 Murphy (Freddie Jr.); grandchildren, Trelyn and Freddie Murphy, III and Carmise Wade;
12 sisters, Gail Leonard and Louise Coates; brothers, Johnnie Leonard (Lisa) and Roosevelt
13 Leonard (Josie); two nieces who were like her daughters, Lanita Albert and LaToya Hughes
14 (Roddrick); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and
15 WHEREAS, the memories of Ms. Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack will be forever
16 etched in the hearts and minds of all who were blessed to know her.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
18 does hereby extend sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Geraldine

1 Marie Leonard Jack on the occasion of her passing.
2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
3 family of Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack.
