SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 14

A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the
family and friends of Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack on the occasion of her passing.
WHEREAS, Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack, a native of New Roads and a resident
of Port Allen, was born in 1941 to John and Blanche Leonard; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jack had a career expanding over fifty years working for Louisiana
State University's dining services; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jack entered into eternal rest at Our Lady of Lake Regional Medical
Center in Baton Rouge on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the age of eighty years old; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jack is survived by her daughters, Carmalita Jack and Celiaka
Murphy (Freddie Jr.); grandchildren, Trelyn and Freddie Murphy, III and Carmise Wade;
sisters, Gail Leonard and Louise Coates; brothers, Johnnie Leonard (Lisa) and Roosevelt
Leonard (Josie); two nieces who were like her daughters, Lanita Albert and LaToya Hughes
(Roddrick); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and
WHEREAS, the memories of Ms. Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack will be forever
etched in the hearts and minds of all who were blessed to know her.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby extend sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Geraldine
Marie Leonard Jack on the occasion of her passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Geraldine Marie Leonard Jack.
