SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 141

COMMENDATIONS. Commends and congratulates the West Monroe High School
baseball team on winning the state championship.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate the West Monroe High School baseball team on winning the
3 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 5A state championship.
4 WHEREAS, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, the Rebels captured the Class 5A state
5 championship by defeating St. Amant High School 9-6 in the championship game; and
6 WHEREAS, the Rebels were down early, but weren't worried, as they were used to
7 having a late comeback; and
8 WHEREAS, Caleb Ross hit a no out grand slam in the bottom of the third and cut
9 the lead down to one run; and
10 WHEREAS, Hayden Federico hit a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning for the
11 win; and
12 WHEREAS, the West Monroe High School baseball team capped an incredible
13 season by winning its first state championship in twenty-three years.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
15 does hereby commend and congratulate the West Monroe baseball team for winning the
16 LHSAA Class 5A state championship.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
18 principal of West Monroe High School.
