SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 141

A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate the West Monroe High School baseball team on winning the
Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 5A state championship.
WHEREAS, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, the Rebels captured the Class 5A state
championship by defeating St. Amant High School 9-6 in the championship game; and
WHEREAS, the Rebels were down early, but weren't worried, as they were used to
having a late comeback; and
WHEREAS, Caleb Ross hit a no out grand slam in the bottom of the third and cut
the lead down to one run; and
WHEREAS, Hayden Federico hit a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning for the
win; and
WHEREAS, the West Monroe High School baseball team capped an incredible
season by winning its first state championship in twenty-three years.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate the West Monroe baseball team for winning the
LHSAA Class 5A state championship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of West Monroe High School.
