Expresses condolences on the passing of Mary Frances Ellis Neuner. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the 3 passing of Mary Frances Ellis Neuner. 4 WHEREAS, Mary Frances Ellis Neuner was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great- 5 grandmother, as well as a mother figure to numerous nieces and nephews; and 6 WHEREAS, in 1950, Mary and her husband, Frank X. Neuner, moved from Missouri 7 to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where their three children were born and raised; and 8 WHEREAS, Mary was a stay-at-home mom who took on many duties: Brownie 9 leader, Cub Scout leader, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) member, Altar Society member, 10 and numerous other community projects; and 11 WHEREAS, at the young age of fifty years, Mary took up tennis and played until she 12 was ninety years old; and 13 WHEREAS, in 1987, Mary and Frank retired to Perdido Key, Florida, where their 14 many guests were always welcomed and enjoyed Mary's famous Red Roosters; and 15 WHEREAS, Mary moved in 2018 to Garden View Assisted Living in Lafayette, 16 Louisiana, and bingo became her favorite sport; and 17 WHEREAS, although Mary had many interests and friends in her life, her passion 18 was her family and memories of her, and her life lessons will remain with family and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 150 SLS 22RS-3489 ORIGINAL 1 friends; and 2 WHEREAS, Mary is survived by three children, Frank X. Neuner Jr., Mary Jane 3 Neuner Riley, and William A. "Tony" Neuner; eight grandchildren, Gretchen Neuner Daniel, 4 Hearin Neuner Brannock, F. Xavier Neuner III, Mary-Frances Neuner Haynes, Megan Mary 5 Riley Benham, Erin Elizabeth Riley Meier, Camille Earle Neuner, and William A. "Will" 6 Neuner; nine great-grandchildren, Owen Daniel, Mary-Charlotte Daniel, William Daniel, 7 Violet Brannock, Lincoln Benham, Spencer Benham, Grafton Meier, Fiona Meier, and 8 Henry Francis Haynes; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and 9 WHEREAS, Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-seven years, 10 Frank X. Neuner Sr.; brother, Jack Ellis and his wife, Earline; sister, Kathryn Taylor; 11 brothers-in-law, Louis Neuner, Oliver Neuner, James Neuner, and David Neuner; and 12 sisters-in-law, Jeanette Neuner, Rosemary Neuner Langan, Libbie Neuner, and Nancy 13 Neuner. 14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana 15 does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the passing of Mary Frances 16 Ellis Neuner. 17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be transmitted to 18 Frank X. Neuner Jr., Mary Jane Neuner Riley, and William A. "Tony" Neuner.
