SR 151	2022 Regular Session	Carter
Creates a task force to study the expansion of early voting with an emphasis on rural
communities.
Provides that the task force shall be composed of the following:
(1)The secretary of state, or his designee.
(2)The commissioner of elections, or his designee.
(3)A member of the Senate, appointed by the president of the Senate.
(4)The chairman of the Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee, or his designee.
(5)The president of the Louisiana Registrars of Voters Association, or his designee.
(6)A member of the Louisiana Registrars of Voters Association from a rural parish,
appointed by the president of the board of directors of the Louisiana Registrars of
Voters Association.
(7)A member of the Louisiana Registrars of Voters Association from an urban parish,
appointed by the president of the board of directors of the Louisiana Registrars of
Voters Association.
(8)A member of the Louisiana Municipal Association from a rural parish, appointed by
the president of the Louisiana Municipal Association.
(9)A member of the Louisiana Municipal Association from an urban parish, appointed
by the president of the Louisiana Municipal Association.
(10)A member of the Louisiana Police Jury Association, appointed by the president of the
Louisiana Police Jury Association.
(11)The executive director of the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association, or his designee.
The names of the members of the task force must be submitted to the chairman of the Senate
and Governmental Affairs Committee no later than August 1, 2022.
At the call of the member of the Senate appointed by the president of the Senate, the task
force must hold its first organizational meeting no later than September 1, 2022, and the task
force should elect a chairman and any other officers as it finds necessary.
