2022 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 158 BY SENATORS STINE AND ABRAHAM A RESOLUTION To commend the St. Louis Catholic High School Lady Saints on winning the 2022 Class 3A track and field championship title. WHEREAS, the St. Louis Catholic High School Lady Saints track and field team has won its fifth straight track and field championship title after winning the 2022 Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Outdoor Track and Field State Meet held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, the Lady Saints scored one hundred thirty-five points, beating runner-up West Feliciana by seventy-four points and eclipsing their fifty-point margin in 2021; and WHEREAS, the Lady Saints title run included individual championships in eight different events and seventeen top-five total finishes; and WHEREAS, Ella Segura, Tia Reder, Myca Trail, and Emma Freeman led the way with a combined seven individual titles; and WHEREAS, Ella Segura was named the Class 3A Outstanding Athlete after taking the sixteen hundred-meter and the thirty-two hundred-meter run state titles and posting another two top-four finishes; and WHEREAS, Tia Reder took home the long jump and the triple jump titles while also finishing runner-up in the four by one hundred-meter relay; and WHEREAS, Myca Trail took home two titles including the high jump and the four by two hundred-meter relay; and WHEREAS, Emma Freeman took home her third consecutive state discus title and finished runner-up in the javelin; and WHEREAS, the St. Louis Lady Saints track and field team is coached by Head Coach Johnny Giordano and assistant coaches Michelle Maze and Brock Matherne; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 158 ENROLLED WHEREAS, members of the St. Louis Catholic High School Lady Saints track and field team include: Parker Anderson, Genesis Bass, Sophia Bergen, Hannah Boullion, Elizabeth Buttross, Maci Fontenot, Emma Freeman, Kyndal Goodwin, Mary Claire Groves, Amerie Guillory, Sydney Guinn, Avery Karam, Charlie Maze, Mollie Maze, Mia Medlin, Mary-Elise Milligan, Addison Moreno, Laci Moton, Tia Reder, Kassidy Richard, Ella Segura, Ella Simoneaux, Kendal Touchet, Kenzie Touchet, Myca Trail, Arden Turner, Delaynie Williams, and Shelby Willis. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the St. Louis Catholic High School Lady Saints on winning the 2022 Class 3A track and field championship title.
